Mulligans Celtic Pashmina Scarf - Toraigh
Named after the islands of Ireland, and inspired by their stories and history, our Island Range of shawls and scarves is a fusion of modern Irish design and color palette together with the traditional Celtic knot weave in Irish/Gaelic. This mix of old and new designs makes for a stunning range of Pashminas.Â
Hang Tag story card readsâŚToraigh.
Toraigh lies 9 miles off the north-west coast of County Donegal, Toraigh (pronounced Tory) is the most remote of Irelandâs inhabited islands where people still talk of âtravelling to Irelandâ. Toraigh is famous for its school of âprimitive paintersâ, who were encouraged by the internationally famous painter, the late Derek Hill. GailearaĂ Dixon exhibits the work of island artists. Interesting historical sites include a round tower that once protected monks from Viking raids, the ruins of St Colmcilleâs 6th century monastery and the intriguing Tau Cross that suggests early seafaring links to the Coptic Christians of Egypt.
